About this event

Anti-choice, anti-LGBTQ lawmakers continue to chip away at reproductive freedom by pushing policies that allow people to be denied essential reproductive and gender-affirming care. Join NARAL Pro-Choice America to learn more about how to fight back against this sinister web of federal and state restrictions and make sure no one is denied the care they need.

The Weldon Amendment has been used to encourage denials of abortion care and punish states that require insurers to cover abortion care. President Biden must propose a budget that ensures people can access the care they need, including abortion care, free from discriminatory restrictions and denial of care policies — and that means dropping the Weldon Amendment, along with other attacks on reproductive freedom like the Hyde Amendment, once and for all.

These policies and others like them in state and federal law disproportionately hurt people already facing the greatest barriers to accessing care thanks to systemic racism and inequities, especially Black, Indigenous, and other women of color, transgender and non-binary people, and those with lower incomes.
